Carla Rees is an innovative, international low flutes specialist. Improviser, composer and arranger, she has premiered several hundred new works for low flutes and has made numerous recordings.

Carla is Professor of Low Flutes at Royal Academy of Music, London; Artistic Director of rarescale; and Director of specialist low flutes publishing company, Tetractys.

WHAT KIND OF PIECE SHOULD I PREPARE?
The class will be unaccompanied, so please pick solo pieces to play.

Each performance slot will last approximately 25 minutes, so choose a piece around 5-7 mins in length - feel free to get in touch if you need any suggestions!

Carla is also happy to hear small ensembles (duets/trios) if you prefer, but these must be a majority of low flutes!


DO I HAVE TO OWN A LOW FLUTE?
For those of you without low flutes and would like to play, please reserve a slot letting us know what you need and we'll see what we can do to source an instrument for you.


WHERE IS THE MASTERCLASS VENUE?
Orton Waterville Village Hall is just 7 minutes from the A1 exit to the Showground/Chesterton, and 15 minutes from Peterborough Train Station (pick-up/drop-off option will be available).
